Assigning Part Entities to Target Part Entities

All part entities (faces, edges, and vertices) in a part belong to a part surface/curve/point by default. This tool assigns selected part entities to an existing surface/curve/point.

To assign faces/edges/vertices to a target surface/curve/point:
  1. In the Graphics window, select the part entities using the appropriate selection filter.
Part curves and part points must be marked as features before you can modify them.
  2. In the Part Edit group box, select the option appropriate for the part entity that you want to modify.
For example, if you want to modify a part surface, select Part Surface in the Part Edit group box.
  3. In the Edit Options group box:
    1. Select Specify Part.
    2. Click .
  4. In the Select Object dialog:
    1. Expand the part folder and the Surfaces/Curves/Points folder.
    2. Select the target surface, curve, or point that you want to add the selection to.
    3. Click OK.
  5. In the Part Edit group box, click Modify.
The selected surfaces, curves, or points are added to the target part surface, curve, or point. A message indicating the modification is displayed in the Output window.
To verify that modification is successful, right-click on a modified part surface, curve, or point and check the menu entry:
