Modifying Part Entities Using the Right-Click Menu

In addition to using the Part Edit group box to modify part entities, you can modify part entities directly using the right-click menu.

To modify part entities using the right-click menu:
  1. In the scene, select the part entities using the appropriate selection filter.
Part curves and part points must be marked as features before you can modify them.
  2. Right-click the selection and choose the appropriate option:
    • To create a new part entity from the selected entities:
      1. Select Part Surface/Curve/Point > Modify to New.
      2. In the Modify Selection to New Part Surface dialog, choose to either create a new part entity in the existing part (Maintain Existing Part option), or in a specified part (Specify Part option). When choosing to specify a part, set Geometry Part to the part that you want the new surface, curve, or point to belong to. By default, the parent part of the selection is chosen. In this example, the parent part is Mount.
      3. Set New Part Surface/Curve/Point to the name of the new surface/curve/point.
      4. Click OK.

See Creating a New Part Entity During Surface Repair for an alternative method of creating new part entities.

    • To move the selected part entities to a target entity:
      1. Select Part Surface/Curve/Point > Modify to Existing.
      2. In the Modify Selection to Existing Part Surface dialog, expand the part folder and the Surfaces/Curves/Points folder.
      3. Select the target surface, curve, or point that you want to add the selection to.
      4. Click OK.

See Assigning Part Entities to a Target Part Entity for an alternative method of moving part entities to a target entity.

Right-clicking on a baffle contact surface displays options differently from a non-baffle contact because a baffle contact is applied to a single part surface belonging to a single part.
