Creating a New Part During Surface Repair

You can create as many new empty parts as you want within the Surface Repair tool. You can create the new part at anytime during the repair or leak detection session.

  1. To create a new empty part:
    1. In the Create New Part box, enter the desired name for the new part.
    2. To assign a different color to the part, click the color chooser and select the color that you want to apply to the part.
    3. Click Create.
      In this example, a new part is named New Repair Part.

      After the creation, the name of the new part appears in the Output window.

  2. If you want to add a new part inside a composite (assembly) part:
    1. Click Select next to Composite.


    2. In the Select Object dialog, select the composite part.
    3. In the Create New Part box, enter the desired name for the new part and click Create.
      After the creation, the name of the new part appears in the Output window.
  3. To add part surface, part curve or part point objects to the empty part, use the Part Edit toolset. See Creating New Part Entities in Surface Repair.
