Pasting Coordinate Sets Directly into Dialog Fields
If you have a string of comma-separated coordinates, for example of a vector, you can paste them directly into a dialog with a single paste action.
2.5 0.18 0.05
2.5, 0.18, 0.05
[2.5 0.18 0.05]
[2.5, 0.18, 0.05]
2.5 0.18 0.05 m
2.5, 0.18, 0.05 m
[2.5 0.18 0.05] m
[2.5, 0.18, 0.05] m
To use this feature:
- Select the desired values, for example in the Output window or the Properties window, and copy them. In the example that is illustrated here, the values are -0.08, -0.001, 0.05.
-
Place the cursor in the first coordinate text box in the dialog (typically
X) and paste.
All three values appear in the appropriate text boxes. The existing unit selection is applied to the values.
Note In the current version of Simcenter STAR-CCM+, strings with multiple units are not acceptable for pasting in this manner. To paste the string, simply omit the additional instances of units from what you paste. For example, change the string [2.5, 0.18, 0.05] m,m,m to [2.5, 0.18, 0.05] m.
