Updating a Design Manager Project

As you set up a design study, you are likely to find that you require other parameters, reports, scenes, or plots from the reference simulation. You can not create these object in the Design Manager project. Instead, you must go to the reference simulation directly.

To apply changes to the reference simulation:
  1. Load the reference simulation:
    1. Right-click the Simulations > [reference simulation] node and select Load....
    2. In the Load a File dialog, set the startup options (see Interactive Startup Reference) and click OK.
The simulation launches in its own explorer panel.
Alternatively, you can open the reference simulation in a separate Simcenter STAR-CCM+ workspace.
  2. Modify the simulation as required.
  3. Save and close the reference simulation.
For the following modifications, you must update the reference simulation in Design Manager:
  • Creating or removing parameters, reports, scenes, or plots.
  • Changing parameter values.
  • Renaming parameters, reports, scenes, or plots.

For all other modifications, such as changing the scalar field of a scene, the following step is not required:

  1. Right-click the Simulations > [reference simulation] node and select Update.
The Design Manager project reflects the latest changes.
