Visualizing the Normal Modes

To visualize the normal modes on a scene, you create a normal modes solution view. The Normal Modes View shows the results for each eigenmode calculated for the linear elastic structure at a stress-free state.

To create a normal modes view:
  1. Right-click the Solvers > Solid Stress Normal Modes node and select New Normal Modes View.
To visualize the 7th smallest eigenmode:
  1. Select the Solution Views > Normal Modes View > Eigen Mode node and set Mode to 7.
  2. Right-click the Scenes node and select New > Empty.
  3. Right-click the Scenes > Scene 1 node and select New Displayer > Scalar.
  4. Expand the Scene 1 > Scalar 1 node and set the following properties:
    Node Property Value
Scalar 1 Representation Normal Modes View
Parts Parts Regions > Blade and Regions > Spar
Scalar Field Function Modal Displacement > Magnitude
  5. In the vis toolbar, click (Save-Restore-Select Views) and select Views > +Z > Up -X.
