Activating Physics Models for File Export

To export data to gPROMS, you require an additional physics continuum that represents the external application.

To create the external physics continuum for gPROMS export:
  1. Create a new physics continuum. For this continuum, activate the following models:
    Group box Model
    Optional Models External Continuum
External Continuum External Application (selected automatically)
    External Application gPROMS Export
    Enabled Models
    • Network Topology (selected automatically)
    • Network Meshing (selected automatically)
    • Region Network Metrics (selected automatically)
    Time Any
  2. Optionally, to export data from Lagrangian phases, also activate the Particle Clustering model.
When you activate the External Continuum model, Simcenter STAR-CCM+ automatically creates a link node, [Link 1], under the External Links node. This link node allows you to specify settings for gPROMS file export. This link is automatically assigned to the external continuum and configured for export to the HDF5 file format, which is appropriate for import in gPROMS:

Simcenter STAR-CCM+ also adds a region under the Regions node. This region represents the external gPROMS network and is automatically assigned to the external physics continuum.
