Selecting the Physics Models

Physics models define the primary variables of the simulation, including pressure, temperature, velocity, and what mathematical formulation is used to generate the solution.

The multiphase turbulence models are available for selection once the multiphase flow and material models have been selected.

To select the physics models:

  1. For the physics continuum, Continua > Physics 1, in the Enabled Models group box, deactivate Two-Dimensional.
  2. Select the following models in order:

    Group Box

    Model

    Space

    Axisymmetric

    Time

    Steady

    Material

    Multiphase

    Multiphase Interaction (Selected automatically)

    Multiphase Model

    Eulerian Multiphase (EMP)

    Gradients (Selected automatically)

    Viscous Regime

    Turbulent

EMP Turbulence Phasic Turbulence (selected automatically)

    Optional Models

    Phase Coupled Fluid Energy

    Gravity

  3. Click Close.
  4. To review the models, open the Physics 1 > Models node.

  5. To limit the minimum volume fraction, select the Physics 1 > Models > Eulerian Multiphase (EMP) node and set Minimum Volume Fraction to 1.0E-20.
  6. Save the simulation.
