Design Details Dialog Reference
The Design Details dialog provides information for a design that you select in a table or in a project plot.
- Design#
- The identification number of the designs in the design study.
- Name
- The name of the design.
- State
- The simulation state of the design, see State.
- Performance (not for DOE and CAD Robustness studies)
- The performance value of the design, see Eqn. (547).
- Artifact Directory
- The path to the design artifact directory where the simulation results of the design are stored—see Artifact Directory. Clicking the hyperlink opens the directory in your default file browser.
- Design Log File
- The log file of the design simulation—see Save Log files. The log file gives a text description of developments within the simulation. Clicking the hyperlink opens the file in your default text editor.
- Simulation File
- The Simcenter STAR-CCM+ simulation file—see Save Simulation Files. Clicking the hyperlink opens the Load a File dialog, which allows you to load the simulation in Simcenter STAR-CCM+.
- Messages

Information about the design simulation.
If the design reused an existing cached mesh, an information message indicates the design from which the mesh was reused. For more information, see Setting Up Simulation Effect for Simulation Parameters.
If the design fails, error messages show the reasons for the failure of the simulation.
