Body Circular Pattern Panel

A list of parameters that are found in the Body Circular Pattern panel is provided in the following table.

Seed Bodies to Pattern Specifies the seed bodies for the pattern. To modify the seed body selection, click inside the Seed Bodies to Pattern group box and select the bodies from the 3D-CAD View scene or from the 3D-CAD feature tree.
Axis of Rotation Determines the axis about which the circular pattern is created.
Axis Type Specifies whether to define the direction of the pattern using a specified vector or using a reference axis.
Specified Creates the pattern about a custom axis, whose vector components are specified in the Axis Direction property.
Reference Axis Creates the pattern about a reference axis. Select an existing reference axis from the 3D-CAD View scene. See Working with Reference Geometry in 3D-CAD.
Coordinate System Source Specifies the coordinate system that is used in the operation. Custom coordinate systems that you specified in the simulation are listed here.
Imported Uses the imported coordinate system for the operation.
Reference Coordinate System Uses a reference coordinate system for the operation. Select an existing reference coordinate system from the 3D-CAD View scene. See Working with Reference Geometry in 3D-CAD.
Axis Direction (X, Y, Z) Specifies the direction of the axis of revolution. Enter the [X, Y, Z] components of the direction vector using the global coordinate system.
Axis Position (X, Y, Z) Specifies the origin of the axis of revolution. Enter the [X, Y, Z] coordinates of the origin.
Coordinate System Specifies the coordinate system that is used in the operation. Custom coordinate systems that you specified in the simulation are listed here.
Number of Instances Specifies how many the seed body is reproduced around the circle. The value that you enter must be a whole number. If you enter a decimal value, it is rounded down to a whole number.
Distribution Even Activate this option to space the bodies in the pattern apart equally.
Specified Allows you to specify Angular Increment. Angular Increment specifies the angle difference between each body in the feature, relative to the axis of revolution and the seed body.
Number of Layers Increasing the number of layers allows you to grow the pattern in the radial direction.

A preview of the operation is shown below where the number of layers is set to 3.

Layer Spacing Specifies the distance between the number of layers in the radial direction.
A preview of the operation is shown below where the layer spacing value is set to 50mm.

Skip Allows you to ignore specified bodies in the feature creation. To skip a body, select the body position from the drop-down menu and activate this option. To skip multiple bodies, select another body from the drop-down menu and activate the option for each body.
Body Interaction Specifies how the pattern interacts with other bodies adjacent to it, as defined by Interacting Bodies. The bodies must coincide or overlap for these options to work.
None Creates new bodies from the circular pattern only. This option does not affect any existing bodies.
Merge Merges all circular pattern bodies into the existing body. No new bodies are created from the pattern.
Imprint Creates new bodies from the pattern. The edges and vertices are imprinted on the affected faces of each body.
Bodies to Interact Specifies the bodies which interact with the pattern.
All The pattern interacts with all contacting bodies.
Selected The pattern interacts with selected bodies only. Click inside the Interacting Bodies group box and select the bodies to interact with from the 3D-CAD View scene or from the Bodies node in the 3D-CAD feature tree.
Bodies to Cut Specifies the bodies that the pattern cuts.
All The pattern cuts all bodies.
Selected The pattern cuts only selected bodies. Click inside the Interacting Bodies group box and select the bodies to cut from the 3D-CAD View scene or from the Bodies node in the 3D-CAD feature tree.
Create Body Group When activated, creates a new body group and adds the patterned bodies and the seed bodies inside. By default, the Create Body Group option is deactivated and the patterned bodies are added as siblings to the seed bodies. If the seed bodies are within a body group, the patterned bodies are added within that body group to be together with the seed bodies.
