Selecting the Physics Models

Set up a Eulerian Multiphase simulation. The geometry is axisymmetric and the flow is turbulent due to the restriction in the pipe. Gravity is included to model the buoyancy of the hexane droplets as they rise up the vertical pipe.

To select the physics models:

  1. Right-click Continua > Physics 1 and choose Select Models.
  2. In the Enabled Models group box, deactivate Two Dimensional.
  3. Select the following models in order:

    Time

    Steady

    Material

    Multiphase

    Multiphase Interaction (Selected automatically)

    Multiphase Model

    Eulerian Multiphase (EMP)

    Gradients (Selected automatically)

    Viscous Regime

    Turbulent

    EMP Turbulence Mixture Turbulence

    Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes (selected automatically)

    Reynolds-Averaged Turbulence Reynolds Stress Turbulence
    Reynolds Stress Turbulence Models Linear Pressure Strain Two-Layer

    Wall Distance (selected automatically)

    Two-Layer All y+ Wall Treatment (selected automatically)

    Optional Models

    Gravity

  4. Click Close.
  5. To review the models, open the Physics 1 > Models node.


  6. Save the simulation.
