Search Tool
The Search Tool is a feature in 3D-CAD that helps you to find and organize geometric entities, (that is, body groups, bodies, faces, edges, or vertices) using search criteria based on geometry, features, or similarities. The tool can also search for entities that clash or are in close proximity.
In 3D-CAD, the Search Tool allows you to construct filters using more than one predicate. You can also use compound predicates such as AND and OR to help you narrow the search results.
One unique functionality within the Search Tool is the Clash condition, which allows you to detect interference among bodies. When an interference is detected, you can cycle through the clashing pairs and use the tools in 3D-CAD to solve them. Another powerful option within the Search Tool is the Find Similar option. This function is useful for finding similar parts on a geometry in order to act on them using 3D-CAD features.
The results obtained from the search can be stored in a filter for repeated use or used as an input selection for a 3D-CAD feature without creating a filter. The search tool also gives you the capability to display your results in a table format. The tabular presentation facilitates the way you interact with a large collection of results.
