Visualization Options Reference

Working Without the Default Highlighting Behavior

The default behavior can be stopped by deactivating the Highlight Parts in Scene option in the Visualization node of the Options dialog. Deactivating this option can improve the speed of response in the Graphics window when working with models that contain many surfaces. It is also possible to highlight objects in a scene without the labels.

To highlight parts, part contacts, part surface contacts, and objects in custom mesh controls in the Graphics window when the Highlight Parts in Scene function is deactivated, do one of the following:
  • Right-click the node you wish to highlight and select Highlight.
  • Double-click the object in the scene.

Controlling the Number of Highlight Captions

To improve the readability and graphics performance of the scene, you can set the maximum number of captions that appear with highlighted objects.

To change this setting:

  1. In the Options dialog, expand the Options > Visualization node.
  2. Set Maximum Highlight Captions to the maximum value you wish to allow.

When the total number of highlight captions in the scene exceeds this value, all captions are omitted from the scene.

You can stop labels appearing in the scene by deactivating Include Captions with Highlights in the Visualization options panel.
