Exporting Filtered Time History Fields

You can export filtered time history field data as a Matlab .mat file.

The settings for automatic mapping can be entered through the surface time history node properties, whereas the mapping and export process is carried out through the derived transient surface data set node. For more information about the derived transient surface data set node and its properties, see Creating Derived Transient Surface Data Sets.

To export the filtered time history field data as a Matlab .mat file:

  1. Select the Line Time Domain Filter (or Surface Time Domain Filter) and set its properties to specify the FIR filter settings.
  2. Expand the Line Time Domain Filter > Imported node (or Surface Time Domain Filter > Imported node) and select the Multi-Point Filtered Time History node.
  3. Activate Update Active to enable FIR filtering.
  4. Set the remaining properties to specify input time history data set for filtering.
  5. Right-click the Multi-Point Filtered Time History node and select Export Field...

  6. In the dialog, specify the name and location of the .mat file and click Save.
