Viewing Dependency Information of Features and Bodies
Use the dependency viewer to see what features a particular feature, body, or design parameter depends on, and what impact these have on the rest of the geometry. The dependency viewer is especially useful when you want to delete a body or feature.

Choose the feature or body that you want to view the dependencies on:
- In the 3D-CAD feature tree, right-click the body or feature and select Show Dependencies.
- In the 3D-CAD View scene, right-click the body or feature and select .
The Dependencies panel appears.
In this panel, the features that depend on the feature/body that you selected are listed under the Dependents group box. The features that the selected feature/body depends on are listed under the Depends On group box.
You can position the Dependencies panel anywhere in the Simcenter STAR-CCM+ workspace.
The information displayed in the Dependencies panel does not change or update when you select other features in the 3D-CAD feature tree or graphics window. To display the dependency information for a different feature or body, repeat Step 1 for the desired feature.
Note While the Dependencies panel is open, you cannot create or edit features in 3D-CAD. -
In the
Dependencies panel:
- To continue working on the 3D-CAD model, click Close in the Dependencies panel.
