Arrays of Scalar Quantities

A scalar array is used to specify multiple values of mass-fraction or volume-fraction where each value corresponds to one element of the mixture.

Properties

Method

Selects the method to use for entering the scalar value.

Composite

Defines the method as a composite array profile, which serves as a placeholder for separate scalar nodes.

When this method is used for defining mixture volume fractions, you specify the value for every element.

Composite N-1

If there are N elements to be specified in the composite array, this method requires you to specify the value for the first N-1 elements only. The value for the last element is calculated automatically, given that the sum of the quantity is bound, for example, Volume or Mass Fraction.

Currently, this method is available for defining mixture volume fractions only.

Constant

Defines the method as a single constant array.

This constant method differs from a typical scalar constant method in that you provide it with a series of values. The number and sequence of these values correspond to the number and sequence of the elements of the array.

Value

Specifies a series of comma-separated values with a text entry. This property is only available when Method is set to Constant.

Dimensions

The dimensionality of the value (read-only). Clicking the customizer executes the define dimensionality action.

Setting Values Using a Composite Array

The composite array profile method node serves as a placeholder for separate nodes, each of which represents a selected element in a mixture.

The element nodes let you specify profile methods for each element separately:

  1. Open the Composite node.
  2. Select a element node.
  3. Select a setting for the Method property of the element node.
