Generating the Mesh
In this tutorial, you mesh the imported part with 3D solid wedge elements using the Tetrahedral Mesher and the Thin Mesher.
- Right-click the node and select .
-
In the
Create Automated Mesh Operation dialog, select
Plate from the
Parts list, then select the following meshers:
Group Mesher Surface Meshers Surface Remesher Core Volume Meshers Tetrahedral Mesher Optional Volume Meshers Thin Mesher - Click OK.
Specify reference values for the element surfaces and the number of thin layers that the
Thin Mesher adds through the plate thickness:
-
Edit the
node and set the following properties:
Node Property Setting Base Size Value 0.05 m Percentage of Base 50 Number of Thin Layers Number of Layers 1 -
Execute the mesh operation.
You can visualize the mesh with a method of your choice, such as creating a mesh scene.
Add mid-side vertices to the mesh:
-
Select the
Add - Linear Interpolation.
and set
Mid-side Vertex to
Simcenter STAR-CCM+ will generate the mid-side vertices when you run the simulation.
