Duplicating a Body

When you duplicate a body, an identical copy of the body is created and added to the Body Groups manager node. The new body is given a default name, for example Body 5, and can be operated on. It is not necessary to duplicate a body before transforming it. In this case, use the copy option in the desired transform panel. See Creating a Copy During the Transform Operation. It is possible to duplicate several bodies at once, as described below.

To duplicate a body:

  1. In the Body Groups manager node, right-click on a body node and select Duplicate.
You can select multiple bodies by holding down the <Ctrl> key.
The Duplicate Bodies panel appears. The selected bodies are shown in the Bodies to Duplicate group box.

  2. To group duplicate bodies, including the source bodies, in a new body group, activate the Create Body Group option
When this option is deactivated, duplicate bodies are created and added as siblings to the source bodies.
  3. Click OK.

The selected bodies are duplicated and a body node is added to the object tree for each of the selected bodies. A single DuplicateBody feature node is also added to the feature tree.
