Setting up DFBI Post-Processing

DFBI solves for transient movements of 6-DOF bodies. To post-process DFBI results, you create DFBI reports and displayers.

DFBI activates specific reports for visualizing DFBI physical quantities for 6-DOF bodies. To create a DFBI report, right-click the Reports node and select New Report > DFBI > [DFBI report]. See also: 6-DOF Body Reports Reference.

To visualize the DFBI motion, create displayers according to the body type of 6-DOF bodies:

Body Type Display
Continuum Body

To display the transient body motion of a Continuum Body:

  • You can create a DFBI Displayer:
    1. In an open scene, right-click the Displayers node and select New Displayer > DFBI.
    2. Select the Displayers > DFBI 1 > Parts node and add the Continuum Body [Body 1] to Parts.
  • You can add the boundaries defining the Continuum Body in one of the following displayers to display the transient body motion :
    • Geometry
    • Scalar
    • Vector
Mechanical Body

To display the transient body motion of a Mechanical Body:

You can only display the transient body motion of a Mechanical Body in a DFBI Displayer.

  1. In an open scene, right-click the Displayers node and select New Displayer > DFBI.
  2. Select the Displayers > DFBI 1 > Parts node and add the Mechanical Body [Body 1] to Parts.
