Arranging Items in a Scene

Simcenter STAR-CCM+ allows you to resize and reposition most objects that compose a scene, including the order in which they are stacked from background to foreground.

To set the size and orientation of the parts on which you render mesh, color, or solution data, modify the scene view direction and zoom as explained in Controlling Scene View and Perspective.
  1. To move the location of the scene axes, select the Attributes > Axes node and set Viewport to the lower-left and upper-right coordinates of a rectangle that encloses the axes.
For example, to define a rectangle containing the axes from 20% to 40% in both X and Y directions, enter [0.2, 0.2, 0.4, 0.4]. The size of the axes scales in proportion to the dimensions of this rectangle.
  2. If the scene has a color bar, you can change its location interactively. To do so:
    1. Move the mouse pointer over the color bar until the pointer changes to a four-point arrow.
    2. Click and drag the color bar to the new location.
You can also modify the color bar location using its node properties.
  3. To move the Simcenter STAR-CCM+ logo interactively, you must first move it to the foreground layer and then activate interactive editing. To do so:
    1. Select the Attributes > Annotations > Logo node and set Location to Foreground.
    2. On the same node, activate Interactive.
    3. In the graphics scene, click and drag the logo to its new location.
You can deactivate the logo for a specific scene or for all scenes.
