Bonded Particles Model Reference

The bonded particle model is a combination of the Hertz Mindlin and Parallel Bonds model, and is activated by default with the Particle Clumps model. When the particles are attached, the Parallel Bonds model determines the connection and inter-particle forces.

When the Bonded Particles model is selected, the Simple Failure and Constant Rate Damage models become available. If either of these models is selected and determines that the bond breaks, the particles separate. Thereafter, the Hertz Mindlin model determines the particle-particle interaction upon collision.

Theory See Contact Force.
Example Node Path Continua > Physics 1 > Models > Multiphase Interaction > Phase Interactions > [phase] > Models > Particle Clumps
Requires The Bonded Particles model is always and only selected automatically when the Particle Clumps model is selected. It cannot be selected separately.
