Adjoint Shape Optimization Workflow
Simcenter STAR-CCM+ provides two methods by which to execute a shape optimization, either through the mesh sensitivity on control points or surface sensitivity of boundaries.
The workflow of a shape optimization is set as follows:

You also have the option to automate the remaining steps in a Simulation Operations loop until the maximum number of shape optimization cycles is reached. Include the following operations in the loop:
- Solve Physics to solve the primal flow
- Solve Adjoint
- Deform Mesh
