Selecting the Physics Models for the External Casing
Physics models define the primary variables of the simulation and what mathematical formulation is used to generate the solution.
The external casing is modeled as an air continuum.
To select the physics models for the external casing:
- Create a physics continuum and rename the External Casing. node to
-
For the physics continuum,
, select the following models in order:
Group Box Model Space Three Dimensional Time Implicit Unsteady Material Gas Flow Segregated Flow Gradients (selected automatically)
Equation of State Constant Density Viscous Regime Turbulent Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes (selected automatically)
Reynolds-Averaged Turbulence K-Epsilon Turbulence
Realizable K-Epsilon Two-Layer (Selected automatically)
Wall Distance (Selected automatically)

To review the models, open the
node.
- Select the Physics Continuum to External Casing. node and set
-
Select the
node and set the following properties:
Node Property Setting Case.Inlet Type Velocity Inlet Case.Outlet Type Pressure Outlet - Save the simulation.
