3D Sketch Entity

Sketches are comprised of sketch entities. The following table describes the 3D sketch entities that are available in 3D-CAD.

(Create Point)
Draws a point in 3D space. See Point.

(Create Line)
Draws a line in 3D space. See Line.

(Create Spline)
Draws a spline in 3D space. See Spline.

(Create Line on Face)
Draws a line that is constrained to a CAD surface. To draw a line on a face, you require a minimum of two mouse clicks. The line can span multiple faces as long as there is a point on the adjoining edge. When you move the mouse pointer over a surface, the surface is highlighted in blue to indicate that the line is constrained to it. When you move the mouse pointer over edges, these are highlighted in yellow.

(Create Spline on Face)
Draws a spline that is constrained to a CAD surface. To draw a spline on a face, you require a minimum of three mouse clicks. The spline is limited to a single face at a time. When you move the mouse pointer over a surface, the surface is highlighted in blue to indicate that the spline is constrained to it. When you move the mouse pointer over edges, these are highlighted in yellow.

(Create Helix) Allows you to create a helix or spiral sketch. See Helix.
(Create Equation Based Curve) Allows you to create a curve defined by equations for the x, y, and z components. See Equation Based Curves.
