Plotting the Objective and the Constraints
You plot the evolution of the pressure drop and the solid volume ratio constraint against the optimization iterations. You compare the computed pressure drop against the baseline pressure drop.
The baseline pressure drop is 1.9 Pa and is obtained by simulating only fluid flow through the topology optimization domain. (On the simulation file, you can find it as a pre-defined expression report called Baseline Pressure.) In the course of the simulation, the constraints approach their specified minimum values.
To plot the objective and the constraint:- Define the plot for displaying the pressure drop objective, together with the baseline pressure drop and the dynamic penalty parameter:
- Select the X-Axis Monitor to Optimization Iteration Monitor. node and set
- Right-click the node and select .
- In the Add Data Provider to Plot dialog, select Pressure Drop Monitor and Baseline Pressure Monitor, then click OK.
-
Open the Objective plot and click
(Fit Plot View).
- Define the plot for displaying the solid volume ratio constraint, together with the constant minimum solid volume ratio:
- Select the X-Axis Monitor to Optimization Iteration Monitor. node and set
- Right-click the node and select .
- In the Add Data Provider to Plot dialog, select Solid Volume Ratio Monitor and Minimum Solid Volume Ratio Monitor, then click OK.
- Open the Constraint plot.
- Save the simulation.
