Fan Pressure Components

This section defines the fan pressure components that are used in deriving fan performance curves.

The fan pressure components are defined as follows:

Fan Total Pressure ( p f , T )

The increase in total pressure ( p t ) across the fan:

p f , T = p t , 2 - p t , 1

The total pressure is the sum of the dynamic pressure ( p d ) and the static pressure ( p s ):

p t = p d + p s

Fan Dynamic Pressure ( p f , D )

The average dynamic pressure at the fan outlet:

p f , D = p d , 2 = p t , 2 - p s , 2

Fan Static Pressure ( p f , S )

The difference between the fan total pressure and the fan dynamic pressure:

p f , S = p f , T - p f , D

= pt,2-pt,1-(pt,2-ps,2)

= p s , 2 - p t , 1
