Exploring the Analysis in Design Manager
Follow these steps to assess the design connectivity between output tables, snapshots, and project plots.
To visualize the design connectivity:
- Arrange multiple panels in the Graphics window. A panel is an individual section of the Graphics window that contains an output table, a project plot, or a snapshot (scene or plot). You can save a window layout to make the current Graphics display available for restore. For more information, see Guide to the Graphics Window.
- Using the Design Manager Snapshot toolbar, step through the designs one by one. See Toolbars Reference.
-
In an output table or in a project plot, click a specific design item:
- In an output table, select the respective row.
- In a project plot, select the respective data point (XY plot) or data line (Parallel Coordinates plot).
The other panels are updated automatically to reflect the selected design.
Output tables and project plots provide further features for interacting with a selected design item. You can open scene and plot snapshots, define design sets, or display design details.
To open a scene or plot snapshot from a selected design item:
- Right-click the design item and select , where [snapshot] can be a new snapshot or a previously created snapshots for the respective scene or plot.
To create a new design set from specific designs or to add specific designs to a previously created design set:
- Using <Ctrl>, multi-select the designs of interest.
- Right-click and select , where [design set] can be a new design set or a previously created design set.
To display design details:
-
Right-click and select
Show Design Details....
The Design Details dialog displays the following information:
- Design#
- Name
- State
- Performance (not for DOE and CAD Robustness studies)
- Artifact Directory
- Design Log File
- Simulation File
- Messages
Example: The following video displays the connectivity between output tables, project plots, and snapshots for an airfoil pareto optimization study.
