Design Manager allows you to add multiple data series to a single XY plot. These data series can refer to the same design study or to different design studies within your Design Manager project.
Referring to the same design study is useful when you want to display multiple variables of a design study—parameters, responses, design numbers, design status or design performance—in a single chart display. For example, you can view two different responses versus a parameter in the same plot. Viewing the variables on different axes improves the readability of such plots, especially when the variables have widely different scales of values, such as meters and Pascals. Example:

Referring to various design studies is useful mainly for optimization studies. Suppose you run a weighted sum of multiple objectives optimization study. By looking at the responses it appears that there is possibly a competitive relationship between them. To explore this possibility, you run a Pareto optimization study. Showing the data from both of these studies on the same plot can indicate the part of the Pareto front on which the weighted sum study was focused.
Example:

To plot multiple data series from the same or from different design studies, you can use one of the following methods.- Select the design study or any of the design studies and add data sets using the [plot type] Plot Setup dialog:
- Right-click the node and select .
- In the [plot type] Plot Setup dialog, select all the data series you want to plot for the axes.
- To add a new data series from a different design study or a different design set, click +.
- In the new tab, set the properties for the new data series.
- Alternatively, create a blank XY plot and add the each data series manually:
- Right-click the project plot Plots node and select .
- Right-click the and select Add Data.

Add a new data series for each pair of variables that you want to plot.
- Select the design study and set the properties for the new data series.
- By default, each XY plot has a left and a bottom axis. To add right and top axes to your plot:
- Right-click the node and select , where [position] can be Right or Top.
- To display the data set on the new axis, select the respective node, where [axis] Data can be Left Axis Data or Bottom Axis Data, and set Axis to Right Axis or Top Axis, respectively.
