Creating Mesh Operations
Mesh operations are actions that you can perform on the geometry in a sequential pipeline. This pipeline allows for flexible and repeatable meshing processes.
To create a mesh operation:
-
You can create a mesh operation using two different methods. Either:
- Right-click the
Operations node and select the required operation from the submenu.
- Select one or more geometry parts,
right-click one of the selected parts and select the required operation from the
Create Mesh Operation submenu.
Mesh operations are grouped into three categories: Surface Preparation, Boolean, and Mesh. When selecting the Extract Volume operation, if you have a scene open, a panel appears which allows you to define the properties. For all other operation selections, a dialog appears which allows you to select the input parts. Some mesh operation dialogs provide the option to activate Execute Operation Upon Creation. For the mesh operations that are listed below, the dialog also provides the option to Perform CAD Boolean.
- Unite
- Subtract
- Intersect
- Imprint (the option is called Perform CAD Imprint)
When the mesh operation is created, an operation node and a leaf-level part node appear in the tree.
Immediately upon creation, the mesh operation node is selected automatically.
- Right-click the
Operations node and select the required operation from the submenu.
-
Set the operation properties:
- In the Properties window, set the properties that the operation requires.
- For extract volume operations that are defined using the Extract Volume edit panel, you can also edit properties on the Extract Volume node afterwards.
