Using the Refutas Method for Dynamic Viscosity

This method becomes available when the Multi-Component Liquid model is included and density is calculated using the Volume Weighted Mixture method.

The kinematic viscosity νi of a multi-component liquid is calculated with the Refutas equation [reflink] as follows:

Figure 1. EQUATION_DISPLAY
ν=exp(exp(i=1nyibi10.97514.534))0.8
(146)

where yi is the mass fraction of the ith component of the mixture and bi is the viscous blending number of the ith component:

bi=14.534ln(ln(νi+0.8))+10.975

and νi is the kinematic viscosity of the ith component in units of centiStokes.
