Using the Power Law

The Power law function is available for various material properties.

The coefficient properties for this function are set in the Properties window.

The Power law for viscosity is:

Figure 1. EQUATION_DISPLAY
μμ0=(TT0)n
(132)

where T0 and μ0 are the reference temperature and viscosity, respectively and n is the Power law exponent.

The Power law for thermal conductivity is:

Figure 2. EQUATION_DISPLAY
kk0=(TT0)n
(133)

where T0 and k0 are the reference temperature and conductivity, respectively and n is the Power law exponent.

Power Law Properties

Reference Temperature The reference temperature in Eqn. (132) or Eqn. (133) (depending on the material property).
Reference Value The reference viscosity or conductivity (depending on the material property) in Eqn. (132) or Eqn. (133).
Temperature Exponent The temperature exponent in Eqn. (132) or Eqn. (133) (depending on the material property).
